COVID 19 - IS THE HUMAN EXISTENCE PLUNGED INTO PERIL?

The most dangerous form of warfare in the 21st century is not nuclear warfare but biological warfare because by the time the opponent realises that a biological war has been initiated against him, the ball is never in his court and the only option left is perhaps to surrender.

The entire world is on the warfront today and I am afraid because we are losing and the social and economic costs we pay are staggering and unimaginable, to say the least.
 

   

Abiding by the social distancing protocol and feeling proud of the worldwide recognition that the Indian namaste garners today, I won't say hello today.

I would use a better phrase, Namaste readers.

In the wake of the unfortunate crisis

 Covid -19 which has engulfed the globe today, the alluring temptation to address you all was very hard to resist.

To make an opening remark, there is a clear binary between the right and the wrong.

Willingly unwillingly, consciously unconsciously, knowingly unknowingly what a rational person's comprehension and understanding of global affairs would lead him to is the simple fact

The COVID -19 which began rather surreptitiously in China is a deliberate Chinese attempt to obliterate the leading world economies in the pursuit of thriving its own. The corona virus is an autocothonous monster which was given birth by the Chinese womb, it was tamed and then finally this monster was cleverly unleashed so that it could vent its ire.

The paradox is after putting the world economy in an ICU , as a goodwill gesture now China is supplying inferior quality medical aid and protective gear to the world to cover up for its misconduct which has left billions stranded.
First China manufactured the virus, initially when a doctor in Wuhan who saw what was coming tried to warn the authorities, he was reprimanded and charged for sedition. And when suddenly the situation goes out of control in Wuhan, Chinese government tries to shield itself at the global front by playing a victim to the virus and then finally it portrays itself as the saviour for the world by supplying inferior medical aid.
The plot of the story might leave some of you baffled or you might find it humorous.
One might even conclude that the
 corona virus is one of the very few
"Made in CHINA" products that have lasted long.
I am not trying to float the theory that COVID 19 is a Chinese conspiracy without evidence . The fingers of suspicion are being pointed at China continuously by various governments and reliable media sources. Therefore abandoning the Chinese conspiracy theory and ruling it out of the domain of possibility won't be the right thing to do.

What China waged is a modern biological war to which even the most advanced nations do not seem to have an answer to.
             

I don't write this blog with the intention of exposing the Chinese propaganda and its narrative but this is what has transpired in China in the last few months and it is a hard fact that
"At a time when the world economies and health infrastructures continue to collapse, 
China has begun to resurrect."

There are very grave complications we face today  and for a country like India which stands under the umbrella of my concern,

these complications and repercussions are even mammoth.

India gets under the scanner due to numerous reasons.

In India health expenditure as a proportion of GDP has always been less than 5%. Thus

the very fundamental question which needs to be pondered upon is that are we fully equipped to tackle the 3rd stage of COVID -19 and similar biological attacks in the years that follow.

This question strikes me because in India for almost 1500 people, only 1 doctor is available.

The ratio of the no of people to a single ventilator is even more striking, which is 12000:1.

We have ill equipped health infrastructure and inadequate medical equipment to overcome the outbreak of such an unprecedented lethal disease.

Because spread of contagious diseases like COVID is a function of time and people who come in contact, India having the highest density of population and second largest population in the world potentially can become prey to the massive outbreak and can become an epicenter in almost no time.

Economic setbacks India would face are staring us in the eye.

India was already going through the economic slowdown across all sectors.

But unfortunately as soon as our economy started to witness a demand stimulus and we began to revive, the silver lining again faded and the COVID 19 pushed us into a recession alongside the world whose dangerous implications are difficult to forecast. The IMF sounds an alarming bell for the same.
Punitive measures to control the pandemic have proved to be futile,
preventive measures have not delivered the expected results. Now what the near future holds needs to be deciphered.
As majority of the students enrolled in higher education in India are dependent on part time jobs for sustaining their academic expenses, the lockdown due to COVID 19 has posed severe challenges to students. Students are in a complete lurch due to postponement of academic calendars and the uncertainty of examinations, thanks to the COVID 19.

Dear readers the world is in the most confronting times presently.

As the death toll surges day by day ,as thousands succumb to the pandemic everyday and as cases cross all threshold levels , 

social ostracization becomes a compelling need. Let's not downplay the virus. It's more lethal than probably you and I can imagine.
It is also imperative that we all develop the necessary sensitisation and fulfill our humanitarian duty by remaining grateful to the WHITE ARMY- the doctors , nurses and paramedic staff who have been working relentlessly throughout by making compromises on their own safety.
             

We have to strengthen our resolve as we fight against the virus. Let's not defeat the purpose of the lockdown by unnecessarily stepping outdoors.

I have the gumption to state that I will keep myself confined to the four walls of my house .

I won't grumble and I won't excoriate the government for imposing this 21 day confinement.

Being a well informed citizen will you do the same as a part of the social responsibility and obligation you have towards yourself, your family, the society and the nation as a whole?
Let's not play the convenient game of transferring the puck to each other.
The onus is on each single individual now.
